Code of Conduct

The Entrepreneurs Association of the Maldives (EAM) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and ethical behavior. This Code of Conduct outlines the principles and expectations that guide the actions of our members, partners, leadership, and all individuals engaged with the association.

Our goal is to foster a respectful, transparent, and collaborative environment that strengthens the entrepreneurial ecosystem and upholds the values of national development.

1. Integrity & Ethical Conduct

Members and partners are expected to act with honesty, fairness, and accountability in all interactions. Ethical behavior is essential to building trust within the entrepreneurial community and the wider public.

2. Respect & Professionalism

EAM promotes a culture of respect, inclusivity, and professionalism. All individuals must treat others with dignity, regardless of background, gender, age, or professional status.

3. Transparency & Accountability

Members should conduct their business and interactions with openness and responsibility. Transparency strengthens credibility and ensures that decisions are made in the best interest of the community.

4. Compliance With Laws & Regulations

All activities undertaken under the EAM umbrella must comply with national laws, regulations, and industry standards. Members are expected to uphold legal and regulatory requirements in their business practices.

5. Avoidance of Conflicts of Interest

Members and leaders must avoid situations where personal interests conflict with the interests of EAM or its stakeholders. Any potential conflict should be disclosed promptly and managed responsibly.

6. Commitment to Inclusivity & Equal Opportunity

EAM is dedicated to fostering an inclusive entrepreneurial ecosystem. Discrimination, harassment, or exclusion of any kind is strictly prohibited.

7. Responsible Use of EAM Platforms

Members must use EAM’s platforms — including events, forums, and the Entrepreneurship Video Podcast — responsibly and constructively. These platforms exist to share knowledge, promote collaboration, and strengthen the community.

8. Confidentiality & Data Protection

Members must respect the confidentiality of information shared within EAM networks and ensure that sensitive data is handled responsibly and securely.

9. Commitment to Collaboration & Community Building

EAM encourages members to contribute positively to the entrepreneurial ecosystem by sharing knowledge, supporting peers, and participating in community initiatives.
